An immediate opportunity for a Safety & Health Officer in their Central, New Jersey exists.

Position Responsibilities:

•Implement the Site Specific Safety and Health Plan (SSHP).
•Coordinate the daily safety activities with the Project manager and Superintendent and the Contracting Officer to ensure that the planned work objectives reflect adequate safety and health considerations. 
•Maintain a complete copy of the SSHP, including its supplements and addenda, at the site during all field activities and assure that all workers and visitors are familiar with it.
•Ensure site compliance with specified safety and health requirements, federal, state and OSHA regulations, and all aspects of the SSHP.
•Ensure adequacy of personnel qualifications, training, and medical surveillance.
•Recommend approval/modifications to the SSHP.
•Develop and deliver site-specific training and briefing sessions for employee(s) prior to the start of field activities at the site and a briefing session each day before starting work including reviewing the Activity Hazard Analysis.
•Additional training may include initial and routine site-specific training, daily toolbox briefings, weekly safety meeting, and monthly supervisor safety meeting.
•Ensure the availability, proper use, and maintenance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
•Provide site personnel respirator fit-testing and site-specific PPE training (i.e. Level B, Supplied Air, Confined Space Entry Equipment, Fall Protection Equipment).
•Assist in project buyouts and stocking of inventory.  
•Research and review safety and health supplies and equipment to obtain the best and most cost effective supplies and equipment.
•Perform onsite air monitoring, including but not limited to personal, area and perimeter monitoring in accordance with the SSHP, local, state, and/or federal regulatory agency. 
•Calibrate air monitoring/Sampling Equipment.
•Ensure proper use of air monitoring equipment and performance of air sampling methods.
•Designate personnel protection level upgrades and downgrades as site conditions permit.
•Train Project Safety and Health Staff on use and calibration of air monitoring equipment. Air monitoring will consist of personal, area and perimeter monitoring and will include both direct (real-time) and indirect (laboratory analysis).
•Interact with established laboratory and track analytical results.
•Maintain monthly project safety cost including safety supplies, equipment rentals, and laboratory analysis/air sampling.
•Assist in reporting and accident investigation all incidents/accidents.
•Perform accident investigations and recommend corrective action. 
•Prepare USACE Accident Investigation Report (Eng Form 3394) for review by the Director of Safety and Health and submittal to USACE.
•Identify, document, and direct correction of safety non-conformance.
•Perform daily site safety and health audits at project; recommend corrective action, if required, follow-up on deficiencies.
•Identify and track safety and health required submittals, provide the Contractor Quality Control Systems manager (CQCSM) with all required submittals as they area available.
•Generate and maintain all project safety and health required documentation and Reports.

•Working Knowledge of Word, Excel software.
•Basic knowledge of Primavera, Expedition, HCSS, AGTEK, AIA software and/or PeopleSoft systems is a plus.
