Environmental Health and Safety Specialist
Abrasive Technology is a world leader in the manufacture of
superabrasive grinding wheels and tools. Simply put, using natural
and synthetic diamond as an abrasive, we manufacture a wide variety of
products that are designed for the grinding, cutting, and polishing
needs of our customers in a wide range of industries.

Abrasive Technology currently has an opening for a Safety /Environmental
Specialist to join our Compliance team. The position is located at our
world headquarters in Lewis Center, off of Polaris Parkway and will
support our multiple plant locations.
Qualified candidates will possess the following experience:
·Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Environmental/Occupational Safety,
Human Resources, or related field
·3-5 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment
·Experience with Federal & OSHA regulations is necessary
·Demonstrated experience in effectively managing multiple projects,
detailed information, prioritization and consistency in meeting
deadlines in a fast paced environment
·Ability to adapt well to a changing environment
·Ability to work off-shifts as necessary
·Ability to travel up to 25% including overnight/foreign (Canada)
travel
Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the position include:
·Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local environmental,
health and safety regulations
·Develop and maintain required training programs
·Coordinate health and safety training and facilitate such training
where needed
·Investigate accidents and ensure corrective actions are implemented
·Oversee the administration of the workers’ compensation program,
including working with the insurance carrier and being responsible for
claim management
·Administer emergency action program-including fire, chemical spill,
and weather related emergencies
