Safety Coordinator -
Mississippi
Manufacturer needs a
Safety Coordinator in one of largest facilities in the Tupelo, MS area.
Large progressive manufacturer in the S.E. part of the US has an
opportunity for a Safety Professional. BS degree in safety
and health or related field from an accredited school.
Qualified candidate will have 3+ years of progressive experience as a
Safety Engineer in large manufacturing facility.
Certification in safety, environmental and health is preferred.
Must have excellent computer skills and working knowledge of regulations
and requirements.
Responsibilities include the following:
Ensure the facility conforms to state and federal safety and health
standards; establish and train a safety audit team, administer the
safety audit process and chair the safety committee meetings; oversee
the injury investigation process, identify and correct.
Establish effective communication with all levels of management; assist
engineering to ensure all equipment meets the company safety standards,
the lock out EID are identified; the work station design complies and
hazard assessments are completed before the machines or equipment is
placed into production.
Assist management and supervisors in providing safety training for each
department; establish safety inspection; train and maintain an emergency
response team as required by EPA, OSHA and DOT; and maintain contacts
with state and local regulatory agencies.
