Manage Comprehensive Safety Program

Safety

As DRI Companies continue to grow and expand, we’ve
created a new and exciting opportunity for a
results-driven, self-motivated Director of Safety to lead
and coach an established team of 5 Safety Representatives
in pursuing and establishing the Best in Class safety
programs. The Team Leader will spearhead the
Safety function to:
· Ensure
company compliance with OSHA/DOT/HAZ-MAT/EPA
· Create
and maintain policies and procedures for all safety and
fleet programs
·
Implement relevant training (e.g., MSDS, Forklift, Safe
Code of Practices, Confined Spaces, First Aid/CPR,
Personal Protection, Ladder Safety, DOT, etc.)
· Create
meaningful employee safety incentive plans with a ROI
· Develop
and monitor reliable tracking systems for training, safety
equipment, fleet vehicles
· Oversee
workers compensation administration including reporting,
claims management and return to duty programs
· Seek
and obtain industry recognition for renown safety programs
·
Identify unique risk hazards stemming from expansion into
new industries or services (e.g., below grade work or
electrical applications related to solar installations)
and create the applicable policies, procedures and
training programs
· Manage,
develop and mentor safety team to ensure the delivery
of an effective safety program
·
Reinforce and cultivate a safety-first company culture
amongst all team associates
·
What’s more, the Safety Director will create policies
and training programs for work performed in new risk
hazards that emanate from performing work in new
industries or services such as below grade work, work in
refineries or electrical applications related to solar.
The ideal candidate will have a BA/BS degree with a
minimum of ten years prior safety management experience
and 5 of those years serving in a leadership role in the
construction industry. Must possess strong
interpersonal can communication skills as well as be
proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Bilingual
English/Spanish communication skills are a real plus.
Ability to travel is required.
