Occupational Safety Manager with minimum 5 years
experience.
Occupational Safety Manager
Southwest Suburban Chicago food manufacturer seeks an
experienced Occupational Safety Manager with a minimum 5
years experience to plan, direct and implement safety
programs.
Responsibilities include compliance, required incident
documentation and the ability to interpret OSHA and other
local, state and federal regulations; plans and implements
programs to train managers and employees in work site
safety prices, fire prevention, and correct handling
techniques of knives, equipment, and other materials;
prepares studies and analysis of industrial incident
causes and hazards to health for use by company personnel
and outside agencies; inspects facilities to detect
existing or potential incident and health hazards,
determines corrective/preventative measure where
indicated, and follows up to ensure corrective measures
have been implemented; provides information, signs,
posters, barriers and other materials to warn of potential
and actual safety hazards and to prevent access to
hazardous conditions; leads investigation of
incidents and injuries and cooperates in the preparation
of material and evidence for organization use in hearings,
lawsuits and insurance investigations; oversees
administration of Worker’s Compensation program and
Return to Work Program; maintenance of all safety related
documents; and the supervision of safety coordination
projects and compliance with all company departments.
Qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s
preferred) in Occupational Safety, 5 to 10 years
occupational safety experience and/or training preferably
within the meat processing industry, or the equivalent
combination of education and experience in a manufacturing
environment. Candidates must also possess Certified
Safety Professional credentials. In order to
succeed, the selected candidate must have excellent
problem solving, communication, pub speaking, multi task,
organizational, math, computer and people skills.
