looking for a Safety/Risk Manager
Basic Purpose:
Responsible for ensuring that all safety policies and
procedures of the Company and government regulatory
agencies are carried throughout the company. This
includes: performing needs assessments; making appropriate
safety program and policy recommendations; developing,
conducting training, monitoring, and evaluating the
effectiveness of such programs.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensures that Bresnan and governmental safety policies
and procedures are being enforced throughout the company.
Analyze OSHA, EPA, and DOT and applicable regulations
to determine how they affect Bresnan, and develop policies
and programs to satisfy the regulations.
Schedules and conducts safety training programs for
management, supervisory, and field employees.
Conducts safety assessments throughout the company;
travels as required.
Reviews all accident reports and ensures proper action
is initiated to prevent reoccurrence.
Analyzes accident trends and areas of potential safety
problems and formulate necessary corrective action.
Analyze accident expenditures and institute cost
containment programs accordingly.
Keeps apprised on all applicable federal, state, and
local safety regulations.
Interacts closely with corporate, regional, and system
personnel as necessary.
Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications:
BS/BA degree in safety, business, or equivalent work
experience.
Five (5) years of safety experience.
3 years of experience in the cable television or
utility industry, including some managerial and/or
supervisory responsibilities, preferred.
Knowledge of federal, state, and local safety
regulations, workers compensation, automobile and general
liability and property exposure, including knowledge of
the National Electrical Code and OSHA regulations.
Excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with
management and field employees.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills,
including professional presentation skills.
Valid drivers license, with satisfactory driving
record.
