Safety, Security and Environmental Manager,
Safety, Security and Environmental
RESPONSIBILITIES
-Partner with the terminal managers, site safety managers and
Operations to analyze exposure and loss information in order to
effectively control and prevent accidental losses in the
organization.
-Implement corporate asset protection related policies and
procedures throughout the organization to reinforce the
importance of a safe and secure working environment for all
employees and customers.
-Lead and provide direction to create and sustain a company
specific culture that embraces corporate asset protection best
practices, regulatory compliance and effective communications
with all employees and customers.
-Coordinate with other company resources to assist in the
management all security related processes including
surveillance, asset recover, security system design, vendor
selection and special security assignments.
-Coordinate with other company resources to assist in the
management of all environment related processes including
regulatory compliance, employee training, vendor selection and
critical incident management.
-Coordinate with other company resources to implement and manage
site specific emergency response and business continuity
activities in conjunction with the company leadership to ensure
the protection of company revenue streams and assets.
-Participate in industry related organizations including, The
American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE), The American
Society of Industrial Security (ASIS), the National Safety
Council and other appropriate trade organization to ensure
ongoing skill set development.
-Contribute to the department strategic and annual business
planning process.
-Manage and supervise a support staff of Field Safety Managers
and trainers to ensure appropriate employees safety training,
regulatory compliance and sot containment.
-Work on special risk management related processes and projects
as approved by the President or internal customers.
QUALIFICATIONS
-BA/BS degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial
Engineering, Industrial Technology or related disciplines from
an accredited university required; designations such as
Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Protection
Professional (CPP), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM)
or related designations highly desirable.
-5 to 7 years experience working with asset protections
processes/programs, related regulatory compliance and
supervision of technical support staff.
-Strong working knowledge of the Occupational Safety and Health
Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA),
Department of Transportation (DOT) regulation and other
appropriate Federal, State and Provincial regulatory
requirements.
-Strong interpersonal, verbal/written communication and customer
service skills.
-Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word,
Excel, and Outlook.
-Ability to travel up to 50% in the United States, Canada and
Mexico.
-The employee will be expected to demonstrate strong core values

focus, workplace safety, a willingness to learn new concepts,
personal accountability and integrity.
