Safety & Risk Manager - Washington

Casino Careers Online has a client seeking a candidate for a Safety & Risk Manager position, which is located in Auburn, WA.

The position description is as follows:

JOB SUMMARY: The Manager of Safety & Risk will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, and monitoring the safety program for the company. The Manager of Safety & Risk develops, implements, and monitors driver training, staffing and safety programs. The Manager of Safety & Risk will serve as the litigation contact for Casino attorney relating to litigation regarding Patron injuries or incidents. This program will consist of OSHA compliance, quarterly safety meetings, reviewing incidents and accidents, hazardous material training, MSDS and station inspections.

MAJOR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Prepare directives advising management of Casino policy regarding safety, health and risk management.
-Responsible for reconciling the weekly KPI reports for each operation with the weekly safety KPI report. Any discrepancies must be resolved with the Department Directors, Assistant General Manager or General Manager.
-Implement and maintain a safety and risk management information system meeting management information needs.
-Write and deliver presentation to Casino management or Tribe government officials (e.g. OSHA) regarding safety, health and risk management.
-Demonstrate management style that is team oriented, pro-active and customer service driven in accord with divisional team philosophy.
-Resource for Casino entities on all safety, health, environmental and risk management matters
-Oversee and train Safety and Risk Management staff sites.
-Work closely with Directors, Department Heads, Managers, and Supervision Tribal Risk Management to implement and monitor corporate-wide safety, health, environmental and risk management initiatives.
-Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Casino policy and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees, planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
-Consult with Casino Departments and Management Safety, health and Risk Management on matters that may significantly impact the Casino as a whole.
-Establish and monitor systems to accurately measure safety and risk performance.
-Develop and support division management in the implementation of safety and risk solutions to enhance operational performance.
-Develop, implement and ensure the completion of relevant safety and health training for all Regional employees.
-Design and direct employee health services regarding immunizations, testing and post exposure follow-up.
-Moderate travel required.
-Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING FOR POSITION (required and preferred): Bachelor of Arts or Science
degree in a related field and three (3) to five (5) year’s related experience and/or training in Safety Risk Management or Loss Control.

SPECIFIC SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE REOUIRED FOR POSITION: Considerable knowledge of insurance claims administration in the areas of property, casualty, liability, and workers' compensation insurance. Ability to effectively coordinate risk management/safety efforts of various Casino departments. Ability to evaluate effectiveness of new and existing programs; and to develop appropriate performance measures to evaluate effectiveness of programs. Ability to diplomatically identify and resolve problems within the department and between departments; with supervisors, peers, subordinates, and the general public. Skill in operating a personal computer and related software. Skill in oral and written communications. Ability to think creatively and work with supervisors, peers and subordinates on a team approach to solve problems which cross departmental boundaries. Possession of a valid Washington State driver's license and an excellent driving record.
