Online Safety Degrees
BS Occupational Safety

You've probably noticed a number of safety jobs require at least a Bachelors Degree.   It's now possible to earn your bachelors degree online - without having to attend classes.

CSU offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Safety & Health.  A high school diploma or GED is required for admission into the CSU Bachelor of Science in Occupational Safety & Health degree program.

The BCSP (Board of Certified Safety Professionals), the organization that administers certifications as Associate Safety Professional (ASP) and Certified Safety Professional (CSP), now recognizes Occupational Health and Safety degrees from CSU.   This means the degrees are accepted on CSP applications and for credit toward recertification in the Continuance of Certification program.

CSU is an accredited, degree-granting member of the DETC and also an institutional member of the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).

CSU's online degree program in Occupational Safety and Health provides students the opportunity for professional development and career advancement within the ever-growing fields of Safety and Environment compliance.   You begin each course when you are ready and proceed at your own pace - within certain defined parameters.   Typically, a course must be completed with ten-weeks.  The Bachelor of Science in Occupation Safety and Health degree program is not structured on a semester-type plan.

During the Occupational Safety and Health degree program, you may correspond with your instructor and other students by e-mail, online chat, or a forum-type online course discussion.  You submit course unit exams online.   If you're unable to use the online format, you may receive course materials in printed form and send your assignments by the Postal Service.

Knowledge and skills you have achieved through various work/life experiences and independent learning may be considered for credit.

To assist you in assembling the documentation necessary to support the awarding of academic credit on the basis of experiential learning, CSU provides easy to understand guidelines. If academic credit sought is not awarded through Portfolio Assessment, you will be required to complete these courses prior to graduation.

In determining credit for Experiential Learning, the University follows the guidelines suggested by the Distance Education and Training Council (DETC).

You may be eligible to earn transfer credit through transcripts, challenge examinations, training & certificates, and experiential learning.  Various online safety degree offerings can be found on the web.
