Safety professional needed
in Florida
Pharmaceutical company in St. Petersburg
Florida seeking a well-qualified Safety professional with strong Industrial
Hygiene background.
Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in Occupational Safety or a related field.
Minimum of 4 years experience directly responsible for safety compliance
programs and Industrial Hygiene. Must have OSHA 30 hour course card,
Haz-woper 24 hour certification or be willing and/or able to obtain them
with in the six months of accepting the position. Must be computer
literate. Must be willing and able to participate in an on education
program for the Environmental Health and Safety Area as directed.
Must complete projects with minimum supervision and have good interpersonal
skills and leadership characteristics.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Include but are not limited to the following:
·Utilize various software programs for performing updates to existing
documents and creating new documentation. Maintain data pertaining to MSDS,
Accident Reports and corrective action.
·Assist or provide specialized training classes pertaining to safety
and/or environmental related subjects to various personnel within the
company.
·Perform necessary assessments, inventories and inspections for various
environmental and safety regulations.
·In charge of the Industrial Hygiene program including assessments,
recommendations and employee awareness and training.
·Lead the Potent Compound Program including the Potent Compound Training
Team. Update the Potent Compound Matrix, coordinate and perform
Industrial Hygiene Assessments related to potent compounds. Evaluate
alternatives to ensure employees are not over exposed and train employees
on the program.
·Maintain files and documentation records as required by various agencies.
·Support on the Workers Compensation program. Evaluate cases to
decrease the accident rate using safety assessments, industrial hygiene
sampling and following OSHA regulations and Cardinal Guidelines.
·Support on control and oversee Personal Protective Equipment program.
·Assist in developing new programs and procedures following OSHA, EPA and
Cardinal Guidelines such as: Emergency Response Plan, Control of Hazardous
Energy, Confined Spaces, and Respiratory Protection.
·Reviewed OSHA Standards Safety Program on site and develop Safety
Internal Audit Checklist to comply with such standards.
·Be willing to work with in established guideline for the continual
improvement on Safety, Health and Environmental.
·Oversee Ergonomics Program and conduct workstation audits.
·Assist in reviewing and participate in the Emergency Response Program.
Assist in the inspection for fire fighting, spill containment, eye wash
stations and emergency lights.
·Cross train on environmental regulations such as RCRA to be the backup
resource for the Environmental Engineer.
